Guided Caribou Hunting Camps
you'll be hunting with the best!
The location: Bobby's Caribou Camp is located on Lake Kakiattukallak 120 miles west of Kuujjuaq (Fort Chimo) in a known massing area where the George River and Leaf River herds gather prior to the October rutting season. The location has been selected by camp manager Bobby Snowball whose ancestors have depended on Caribou since the first Inuit set foot in this land beyond the tree line.

Departure from Montreal Dorval Airport is aboard a commercial jet and the flight time to Kuujjuaq is two hours and fifteen minutes A transfer is then made to the charter aircraft for your flight to camp.

Your hosts
Bobby's Caribou Camp is managed and run by Bobby Snowball and his family who hail from the Inuit settlement of Kuujjuaq. While Inuktitut is the native language, most of the staff and guides also understand and speak English. In all cases you'll find the Inuit helpful and friendly.

The guides are hand picked by Bobby from the best available. They somehow manage to combine their innate ability to predict the ways of the caribou with an understanding of the expectations of today's trophy hunter to ensure a highly enjoyable and successful hunt. Thanks to their comprehension of both the traditional hunting methods and the advantages of modern firearms we've been able to successfully offer hunts with rifle, black powder weapons as well as bow and arrow

The Lodgings
Guests are accommodated in comfortable oil heated tent framed camps built on wood platforms. Meals are prepared and served in a separate kitchen/dining room facility Staff and guides have their own sleeping tents adjacent to the main camp site. Other camp facilities include hot showers, generated electricity, refrigerators and freezers and a two way radio communications system with our office in Kuujjuaq. The camp also offers Caping services and rough scoring of trophies for our guests. Your game will be carefully stored in our screened meat house and packaged in specially designed boxes for home bound transportation. Likewise your antlers will be wrapped to protect the tines from being broken or damaged during the trip home.

Hunting
Each day afield, two hunters will be accompanied by an Inuit guide. Caribou can be found in the ridges right behind camp, as welt as on the hills surrounding lake Kakiattukallak. Each hunting party will be assigned a different territory; in some cases you may leave on foot and in others you'll be taken by comfortable 20 foot freighter canoe across the lake where you'll head inland on foot. Those hunters who fill their two tags early can opt for some ptarmigan hunting or, up to the end of the first week of September go fishing for lake trout. Hunting and being on the land with Bobby Snowball and his Inuit guides is an experience you'll never forget. With over twenty years of successful caribou Outfitting and the world record Pope and Young head taken at Bobby's Tunulik Caribou Camp, you are assured you'll be hunting with the best!!
